“UFO Sightings at Wallkill River School”
Montgomery, New York – Have you seen a UFO? Did you know that our region has registered the third highest number of UFO reports in the country? Local author Linda Zimmerman has written “In The Night Sky” featuring first-hand accounts of UFO sighting. Felix and Sarah Olivieri of Big Guy Media have produced a compelling feature-length documentary examining how these experiences have impacted generations of eyewitnesses and influenced local communities. The two are presenting the film and book on April 27th from 7-9pm at the Wallkill River School of Art in Montgomery. Tickets are on sale now, and include a signed copy of the book, film screening, and out-of-this world appetizers for $30 per person. A great date night to cap off the Pine Bush UFO festival.
“In the Night Sky: I Recall a UFO” contains interviews with witnesses, skeptics, and believers. Zimmerman and the Olivieris visited many actual Hudson Valley UFO hotspots, attended a festival devoted to the ET phenomenon, hiked to mysterious stone structures that may be focal points of activity, and even took to the sky in ultralight aircraft to test the “official” explanation for many of the sightings. In the Night Sky: I Recall a UFO presents a fresh and intriguing view of startling encounters that have left lasting impressions on many residents of the Hudson Valley.
The film recently won the People’s Choice Award at the International UFO
Congress film festival in Arizona. Big Guy Media, owned by husband and wife team Sarah and Felix Olivieri, is a small production company located in the Hudson Valley. The Wallkill River School is a nonprofit artist’s cooperative that runs a gallery and a full art school in Montgomery, NY. The WRS promotes local artists and integrates art into the people’s daily lives. Part of the organization’s mission is to preserve dwindling open spaces and promote small scale farms and our agricultural heritage. The artists often partner with historic sites such as Sugar Loaf Village, organic farms like Phillies Bridge Farm, and nonprofits like Black Rock Forest Consortium to build benefit art auctions, giving participants a chance to sell their work, and help raise money for nonprofits that preserve open spaces. The WRS published a local foods cookbook based on what our farms grow, in season, and where to find it. The WRS offers plein air workshops on location throughout Orange County from May-Oct, and year-round art classes in the Montgomery gallery. The WRS is committed to buying local, and all our events are zero waste, handicapped-accessible, and carbon neutral.
